After the LASER launch event
The launch event took place as planned, so here are some follow-up items.
- Publicity:
- A special issue of the journal Languages, Society, Policy dedicated to this event and containing short summaries of their talks by most of the presenters.
- An issue of the journal Impact which co-publishes these articles.
- A brief report (1600 words) summarising the event, and an extended account of the discussion.
- A press release produced before the event, but not published.
- We were mentioned by Alex Bellos in the Guardian Online.
- We inspired an excellent article in The Economist by Lane Greene (who attended the LASER launch). (To read it you have to register, but it’s free.)
- Almost all the talks listed below have been turned into brief position papers and published as a special issue in Language, Society and Policy.
